It performs a chemical abortion. It saves a trip to the clinic, often through a group of assholes who think they have the right to tell people to carry to term a life that is probably doomed to misery because the mother is considering abortion in the first place.

It is for the really irresponsible people who dont use any form of birth control, or for those unfortunate bastards who end up with broken condoms, or took their placebo on the wrong day.
