The problem Raimi had with it was DeLaurentis wanted the exact same film as 'Evil Dead' rather than what we all know as 'Army of Darkness', which was what Sam & Co. proposed as the actual sequel. This explains why 'DBD' is basically a rehash of 'ED' with the 3 Stooges humor thrown in since they didn't want to make the same movie again entirely. I always hate sequels almost as much as I hate remakes. '30 Days of Night' was cool and was produced by Raimi so there's hope yet that not everything is going to be a CGI 'Spiderman' knockoff.
CK

He also produced The Grudge.

Thank you, and Goodnight.

Lamia

I wrote a cool vampire song in the 80's called LAMIA; maybe, I can sell it to RAIMI. This film sounds very cool; by the way, I like EVIL DEAD II way better than part I.

Me too, he's shown us he can do straight up horror or he can blend it with comedy (and lean more toward EITHER side with great results). He's not limited to horror flicks either and while I haven't seen all his movies I really liked his Spiderman series, Evil Dead series, Darkman, Crimewave, and The Quick and the Dead. He's done plenty enough that I've enjoyed for me to really look forward to this one.

The grudge was a terrible movie. I hated it. just lame boring scenes.

I saw the trailer tonight at The Last House on the Left!
Oh man, it looks like it's going to be a blast...

I think the whole "you didn't give me a house loan and now I'm going to curse you" thing (which is in the beginning of the trailer) is a little lame. The rest looks like it could be good, but I think they could have come up for a better reason to be cursed.

I felt that way, too, until I thought about what context it'll probably be in in the movie. It seems like it's going to be more like Evil Dead II or Army of Darkness, so a curse put on someone like that might be appropriately silly.

I'll be there opening night. I welcome Raimi's return to Horror with open arms. I sure this film will be killer!
