I have lived in the city for the first 26 years of my life, I don't see any sense in trying to go rural anytime soon. That's what cabins are for.

A couple notes about this....

I got called a 'City Slicker' at the Minnesota State Fair last year by a kid with pig shit all over his boots.

When I go to a bar or restaurant in farm or rural area, I get eyed by everyone in the place and occasionally will be completely ignored by the staff.

Because Minnesota is mostly farmland except for a few metropolitan areas, and most farmers are democrats, Minnesota always votes democrat. They say there is no such thing as a wasted vote but that's bullshit. A republican in Minnesota wastes their vote every time they go to the voting booth because our states electoral votes are going to the Dem for sure! (When Reagan won 49 out of the 50 states in his landslide victory, guess which 1 was the only 1 to vote democrat...)

It's a difficult choice to make, having lived in both areas myself.
I think I'd rather the living conditions of the country...less people, more land for a cheaper price generally, much cleaner air, space for more animals...but of course it would depend on the specific area. I'd wanna go someplace semi-coastal, so I could get to the ocean within a relatively short drive, and I wouldn't want to live all that far from urban areas either, as there's simply more things available.
I think I'm gonna maybe retire someplace country...we got some nice scenery here...but for now, in terms of study, career...etc, I'm stuck in the city.

City. I miss Seattle so much it's not even funny. A city can serve your every whim. Want Thai food? Done. How about Bohemian? Oh yeah, I know where to get that. Anything I want to shop for, it's there. People may say that's what INTERNETs are good for, but it's not the same. I miss the big city. I'll be back soon, hopefully.
