I can't stand the fact that a fucking dimestore thriller novel is getting all these specials on the national geographic channel.

It's getting all the discovery/national geographic attention because it is an interesting story. Like you I thought it was a serious investigative novel and Dan Brown only appears to have taken notes from another book(Holy Blood, Holy Grail which seems to be the real investigating book done by people who seriously researched the matter.) and wrapped it around a bunch of his own fiction. I probably enjoyed the specials I've seen more than I'll ever enjoy the book or film. I plan on seeing the movie, having second thoughts about the book but it wouldn't be the first time morbid curiosity pulled me in if I did read it.

but there are more interesting stories that get no National Geographic channel specials. I mean, honestly, what the fuck is so special about saying Jesus got married or something? Hey, guess what? LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST! Hell, Kevin Smith made a movie about his great great great great great great great grand-niece (Dogma spoiler-warning). But some guy writes that he married Mary Magdalene and Da Vinci put secret codes in his paintings, all of a sudden OMG WHAT IF THAT WERE REAL!? Wake me when someone makes a movie about Jesus being black (besides Dogma).

Look, I'm not saying the book is a BAD dimestore thriller novel, I'm just sick and tired of it being elevated into something that it's not. I'm sick of hearing about it, so I'm not going to read it. And I'm probably not going to see the movie, either.

The fucking Holy Grail legend was a Cornish (Celtic) or Welsh (Celtic) legend and nothing (do you get that?) NO FUCKING THING to do with Christianity.

This misconception makes me really very angry.:)

I thought The Holy Grail was a great movie.

now go away....or I shall taunt you a second time.

Yes, well, that's the only redeemable movie or piece based on the what the Christians stole from us!

Fie! Villainous tickle-brained nut-hooks! Fie!

...I liked the book. I'll probably see the movie tomorrow sometime. I don't mind movies with a ton of dialogue. Maybe it won't be so bad.

<<<Quite enjoys movies with a ton of dialogue

Yeah, if Tom Hanks can pull off a whole movie about sitting on a beach and talking to a volleyball, maybe he can pull this off.....maybe they should have had Wilson cameo in Da Vinci....
