Carrie, yeah, F13 is totally looked down on, Evil Dead is a cult movie, Poltergeist is...a weird case where it's not really NOT respected, but it's not like revered or anything, and NoES I guess is, but not much

You guys are naming classics which STE stated for the most part already have respect.

I think hes asking which films that have come out in lets say the last 10 yrs do we think have the most respect.....

not necessarily in the past 10 years. I meant "older" as in the CLASSIC classics (the original NotLD, the Universal horror movies, the silent ones, stuff like that)

Ok, I was mistaken once again.

But this just gave me an idea of a good thread....

No it's cool,

Glad to have made a contribution nonetheless...

I'd say Night of the Living Dead if it's considered modern. It changed the genre and really seemed to have a significant subtest for the period.

i may be wrong but i think the thread is aimed at horror movies that have the respect of the GENERAL film going populace, not the respect of just people you'd find on a horror board.

In the academic community: Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Night Of The Living Dead, The Exorcist, Halloween (somtimes) and Alien.
