i liked the underground lunacy ... it's been the only film thats ever captured the same essence of the origional TCM for me ...

I have to give the "underground" scenes the benefit of the doubt, though they weren't particularly stirring during my one and only viewing of the film.

Maybe I was tired, what with all the hard work and all.

Those prostitutes don't slice themselves up, you know.

i liked them because it turned the whole thing up a notch .. there WAS a Dr. Satan after all .. and he's nuttier than the guys up stairs ... and he's always working.

I like the way it was shot, set and lit .. i remember at the time thinking that R. Zombie had done his homework ... a really nice job for a first timer.

I agree, he was so influenced by Tobe Hooper, there were such common relations from 1000 corpses to Texas Chainsaw.
