I agree with You 100% on this, I went to see Land of the Dead and was really dissappointed.I've seen Night, Dawn and Day and am a huge fan of the three.I went to see Land of the Dead with very high expectations and feel I didn't judge it fairly because I was comparing it to the first three, When it comes out on dvd I'll have to give another chance.I really don't think that they're over doing Zombie movies.I'm actually Looking forward to Tobe Hoopers' zombie movie.

I could never get enough zombies.

There are no where NEAR enough original, quality zombie movies.

I love zombie movies, really I do. That said, however... it's very true that there's been a glut of them lately, and just speaking for myself here, it's beginning to get a little old. Most of the ones I've seen are, well, sub-par. So I'd say it's time for me to take a little break from the zombie genre, but I hope they keep making them.

I agree with you, they should just take a break for awile and think how it all started, and how great it was. They shouldnt change the was Zombies are or should be. Movies that make zombies that can run, use guns, andpretty much do anything a live parson can do. Yet thier dead? That is so stupid and I hate when directors change something that is so great.

Yeah, but if people don't change ideas, how are we ever going to get anything new? The thing about formulas is that they are so predicatable... there's a set list of rules that you have to follow, you're not allowed to stray from it. That's why there's so many movies that are exactly the same and, because of that, pretty dang shitty.

Quite frankly (hehe I said "quite frankly"), a lot of horror genre is overused. Very seldom do we see an original and interesting idea come up. Vampires are overdone. What about werewolves? Thery're overdone... Slashers, no doubt. There's a diamond in the rough in every one, but horror itself is a very narrow genre, and because there's so little diversity its very easy for any yahoo to pick up a camera and start shooting some bullshit.
First of all, you're funny IA75, one of the funnier members of this forum...(I think we should have Newb's lounge for funny shit. Pardon me for volunteering you as bartender, Newb).

Anyway, I believe that you can never have enough zombies, unless they're trying to get into your house while you're at home.

The reason I quoted you is because you said vampires are overdone. I don't think they're over done, just done improperly. All of the vampires that I've ready about have bloody annoying personalities. You've got to give them some bite. (no pun intended) I've been trying to work through that for years, because I love a good vampire tale. I think I've got the hang of it now.

My book's main character is a vampire, but for her that's just a technicality. She does very well at being a vampire, and I think, and some others have thought, that she's actually really funny. I can't say, because I'm biased.

Once I get into the meat of the story, I'll post a little and see what you cats think.
