I didn't even post in the new members section, I just started posting about horror movies right away. I've been flamed, but not for introducing myself. That's the way it should be.

personally, i like having fun with noobs occasionally but i'm pretty tame .. nothing that would deter anyone.
on the other hand when someone comes in with an attitude - or is obviously too stupid to be off of life support - i think some anal reaming is appropriate ... but thats rare..

i'd like to see more posters - intelligent posters - here as well ..

but i kind of understand the mentality that if you cant take a gentle poke in the ribs - you probably have nothing to offer here ..

It's not whether you can stand it or not, it makes the forum look bad.

I probably would have looked for a better horror forum if I got 5 pages of stupid flames on a post introducing myself. In a lot of forums, people will flame you for not introducing yourself to the forums.

(Then you'd never have the oppurtunity to read any of my wonderful posts right? :p )
