i just won an ebay auction - dont have it yet but it's on the way :

MONDO ARGENTO by alan jones.

signed by the author AND Asia Argento

i'm still not sure if this is the same book as Profundo Argento by the same author (with a different title)

'Profondo Argento' will be published by FAB Press in August, 2004. Here's the introduction:

Since the original 'Mondo Argento' published to tie in with the Dario Argento retrospective organized at London's National Film Theatre as part of my 'Fantasm 96' festival sold out very quickly, I've been literally inundated with requests to reprint what was essentially a compendium of all my magazine features, set reports and reviews on the director's work in one volume. But another carbon copy was hardly what the overcrowded fan bookshelves really needed. If I was going to write an update, it needed something extra apart from the inclusion of all the set reports I'd conducted since The Stendhal Syndrome where the first book ended. The opportunity to provide those extras came via producer Richard Journo when he contacted me to be the researcher, advisor and interviewer for his CreaTVty documentary 'Dario Argento: An Eye for Horror' (currently available singly on DVD in America via Image Entertainment and in Britain as a double-box set with Sleepless through M.I.A.) Throughout the early part of 2000 I found myself interviewing all the creative personnel from Argento's movies that I had always wanted to meet but never had the chance to do so mainly because the first Argento film I covered from start to finish was Opera in 1987.
