Really? I thought DeNiro was pretty damned good, and I love the guy, probably even more than I like Mitchum.

But as far as Cape Fear goes, I thought Mitchum's performance was much more believable, much more subtle, and therefore creepier.

Mitchum. Hands down. I just watched both Cape Fears today and I gotta agree about De Niro, but Mitchum was still damn scary and in Night of the Hunter he's brilliant.
