192 films began this tournament and now we are down to just the 9 best remaining in competition for the crown of best horror film of the new millenium. All 9 of these films clawed their way through this tourney to distinguish themselves as the cream of the crop. If you haven't seen any, you should feel confident renting any of these, as well as most of the ones that made it to the quarterfinals as well... They've all proven themselves worthwhile to the majority of this forum at the very least....




SEMIFINALS - Match 1



Our first semifinalist cruised through the first round with a dominant 7-1-0 victory over Final Destination 2 and Wendigo. In it's second match, the going got a little tougher, but this film still managed to come out on top of one of the closest matches of the round with a 7-5-2 win over Dog Soldiers and Joy Ride and only moments ago, this film also won out another hard fought match up by a score of 5-4-1 against Wrong Turn and Slither to advance to this point..... With a combined tournament record of 19-13...

Our second semifinalist scored a closer than expected 6-4-0 victory over Alien vs. Predator and Open Water in the opening round and then went on to dominte it's second match by a margin of 8-3-1 versus Ginger Snaps 2 and Silent Hill. In the quartfinals, this film had one of the most lopsided wins of the round with a 6-1-0 win over The Hills Have Eyes remake and Final Destination 2 to arrive here in the semifinals.... With a total tournament record of 20-9...

And our third semifinalist crushed the competition in the opening round with a 5-0-0 shutout against Beyond Re-Animator and 1 Missed Call. That was followed up by another convincing 7-4-0 win over From Hell and House of 1000 Corpses in the next round. It wasn't until the quarterfinals that this film saw a heated competition, barely eeking out a 5-4-0 win over Final Destination and Resident Evil: Apocalypse for a spot in the semifinals.... With an overall combined record of 17-8....
