Whats Infernal Affairs like? I haven't seen Citizen Kane for years - studying it in Film put me off watching it ever again. I prefer Touch Of Evil I think that's my favorite Orson Wells film.

"A Fistful of Dollars" - S.E

"For A Few Dollars More"...S.E
VERY nice looking? YES.
Lots of nice extras? YES.
Complete? NO IT'S NOT!!!

Anyone who knows this film will know that the old MGM DVD (and the TV prints that followed) was missing an entire sequence at the end of the beating.
Indio's face starts to drop and he then calls off the beating, has Van Cleef and Eastwood taken away and calls his men over to discuss the plans.
This was ALWAYS in the film in ALL the old TV screenings and in ALL the old VHS releases.
yet the previous MGM DVD simply jumped from Indio's face starting to drop to him in the middle of the conversation with his men.
Even if you don't know the film there is a VERY obvious jump and it all makes no sense as one second they are in the middle of beating the Eastwood and Van Cleef up the next they are on their own in the middle of a conversation in a differnet location.
And the new DVD...is exactly the same!
The same missing footage, the same bad jump!
And this even has the balls to have a featurrete on the film's restoration!
I don't call a scene, that was always in the film until recently, missing from the film a 'restoration' of anything!
very nice print otherwise...but this is still really annoying.

Yeh I just scored The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers in Idiots Abroad the other day in my favorite second hand record store. I just found a place that has reissues of a bunch of Crumb's stuff aswell as Freak Brothers and Fat Freddie's Cat. So I'm gonna have to start saving to put an order in. I scored a bunch of Peter Bagge's Hate comics awhile ago great shit.... they really got me into comics again. I've got a few issues of Brutarian magazine that have some really fucked up cartoons in them.

Hehheh! That sounds pretty out there :D There's some great comics out there its something I'm just starting to get into so I'm pretty ignorant with who or what to look out for at times. I'll have to try and track down the rest of the Hate collection. I love the characters and the dark humour because I can really relate to it. But I guess there's a little bit of Buddy in everyone!

Straw Dogs is a great movie I've got it kicking about on VHS somewhere (really shitty old transfer almost looks like they filmed it off the big screen). Is that the black & white Roy Orbision concert with Tom Waits, Springsteen ect?

I'm about to go raid the "Mom & Pop" store down here while I'm staying at my parents so hopefully I'll score something good.

Elvis_Christ 04-26-2005 09:02 PM

Just came back from the store with:

Two Evil Eyes
Puppet Master III
Raising Cain

I was real gutted they'd had a 20 tapes for $20 thing going on and a lot of stuff I intended to buy was taken :( oh well..... I gotta get into a habit of snapping this shit up right away.

ShankS 04-27-2005 09:48 AM
