I've been scanning through the latest Prince album called HitNrun Phase1.

I used to like his NPG stuff of the early-mid 90's, and of course his classic stuff as well...never did like his symbol stuff much.

Though this, is a very interesting album.
Weird, but listenable.

Ah, Prince. Nice to hear his name mentioned. I am always amazed at his uneveness. There are albums that contain music that moves me like no other, and it often exists right beside tracks that are barely listenable to me. Sign of the Times is a perfect example. How perfect tunes like "Never Take The Place of Your Man" and "Forever In my Life" can be on the same piece of vinyl as the steaming pile that is "You Got The Look" is a puzzle to me.

I don't even mean this as criticism, even though it may sound like it. I know Prince's music appeals to a pretty broad audience, and it makes sense that we all wouldn't agree on an artist with such an eclectic, prolific output. I'm a Prince fan, warts and all. HIS warts, of course!

My warts are a subject for another thread entirely.
