Dead Like Me episode 1.

The Pacific Pt VI - The continuation of the battle of Peleliu was equally as intense as the beach assault seen in the previous episode.
Lost Films of WWII - Coincidently the battle of Peleliu was also featured in this fascinating programme. |

The Kingdom (1997). This Danish TV series is actually getting more entertaining. Where it may be losing that Lars edge it gains in absolute entertainment. The story itself is getting more convoluted and probably less believable, but that which people do for god knows why is good indoor fun indeed. Hopefully the last two installments prove a worthy conclusion. Ashe.

Breaking Bad
Land-sakes, I can't believe this show. Does anyone else here watch it each week? I'm surprised more of us aren't talking about it. IMO, this is not only the best show on currently, but the best show that's been on in years. |

The Kingdom: Season Two, Episodes 3 and 4 (1997). Why can't American television be this good? i guess David Lynch can be said to have done so with with Twin Peaks, and Lars Von Trier is just as twisted, if not more so. These last episodes do nothing to tidy up the end of the series as there were to be two more episodes to end the trilogy. Apparently three of the main actors have since perished, leaving this to be a true cliffhanger. As such, this has been a pretty fun series, and even though this was a concept meant more for entertainment, the mind of Lars has put created a pretty demented, Danish version of the American series ER. That said, this wonderful little series was still a fun ride and maybe the forced departure made for an appropriately wicked ending. Merci beaucoup.

Dexter, Season 4
I only have 1 episode left...the last couple have been some of the most intense of the whole series. Depending on how things unravel from here - and I'm pretty sure I can see where its going, at least to some extent - this could turn out to be my favourite season yet. |
Stephen King's The Stand

I last watched the latest "United States of Tara" which I think has introduced some interesting concepts this season but for some reason while I watch with interest I don't seem to be getting into it as much as the first season. |

Breaking Bad - Season 1, Episode 1.
Finally getting started on this one. Great way to kick off a series, I think I'll like it a lot. |
I recently borrowed a friends DVD of a BBC3 horror/drama/comedy series called Being Human. It was much better than I expected and well worth a look, six one hour episodes about a werewolf, vampire and ghost all residing in a house trying to come to terms with life (or death).
An underlying storyline running through the series builds very nicely and although the first episode is a little slow its definately worth investing some of your time to catch this show |
Agreed. I haven't watched the whole series yet, but based on what I've seen Being Human turned out really well. I wasn't expecting a lot either, but it's surprisingly good.

Lar von Trier's Medea (1988). This wonderful made for TV Greek tragedy was viewed almost as if seen through the lens of the gods. The hoary fog is chilling, and the use of intense color was transcendental. The story itself, a script from Carl Theodor Dryer, was an impressive take on this Greek tragedy. The acting was phenomenal, with lead Kirsten Olesen portraying the titular lead with fantastic aplomb. The direction definitely had the feel of von Trier magic. The camera's lens captured each moment along with atmospheric mastery. This was simply a masterpiece of cinema made for the Danish idiot box. Ashe.

Spartacus Blood and Sand
Really enjoying this show so far, the graphic novel feel to it works well. Bring on more |
The first episode of the new futurama.
I only ever watched it when it was last on here and there, but always quite liked it (the dog episode... :( ) and thought it got canned a little before its time. Though this new episode was really great. I might just keep watching this time round. |

Agreed. They should have stopped doing The Simpsons instead. Glad its back |
The Office. I never thought I'd like that show since it seemed to me that Steve Carell acted the same in every movie he's been in.
But, he's great on the show, and even if he wasn't, the rest of the cast could make up for it. I'm totally hooked on the show now and have every season available coming from NetFlix. |
Going back and watching some older episodes of Breaking Bad with a friend.
