Verdammt!

Your absolutely not making a fool of yourself! Its healthy debate, its a good thing. Its how new ideas are created.

I personally think that the reason most remakes fail is because the studio/directors/producers/actors are terrified to make something that isn't going to hit all the key places. They are scared of angering the fans and instead they refine it to such a degree its not fun anymore. The reason the originals where fun is strictly because the people making it didn't give a shit and they made what they wanted. Now everyone is so geared up about scaring off the audience that its impossible to make a good film.

In other words, they destroy the fun of horror.

I think they are forced to destroy the fun of horror because we are too critical as a audience. I watch and enjoy almost every movie out there, because somebody put their life into it. Somebody bled for what they thought would be right. Its why I love low budget movies. The acting is terrible, the lighting is usually bad, but its somebodies passion and it comes through if you look for it.

Im just saying, if we went to movies expecting to like them, no matter the genre or connotation we would see a revival of the classics and maybe even new classics. How badly would you want to make another movie if your first got shit on uncontrollably by the demo you where trying to reach.

FOR EXAMPLE! Lol. Have you seen Underworld (1985)? The first full length film Clive Barker made? Its horrible. But in 1985 you didn't have the internet and trolls to destroy a movie before it had a chance, you had to go and see it. Two year later I think he made Hellraiser. What if Underworld was released today and Hellraiser hadn't come out yet. People would have destroyed it and potentially killed Barkers want to create anything else.

As an audience, we are crushing the creativity of potentially excellent writers and directors before they get an opportunity to create their masterpieces because we are too high and mighty to just enjoy a film for what it is.

Rant... Over....

I guess we'll have to wait for a trailer at least until spring :/

I've seen the trailer recently. I loved the original and I plan on reading the book again. By the trailer it looks alright. I just hope they don't mess it up. I've always loved IT since I was younger. If it gets bad reviews, I'll more than likely wait until it comes out on DVD or something.

Here's the trailer. What does everyone else think? Think it'll be worth seeing in the theater?

I thought it was a great trailer. The movie can't be worse than the first one, so I really look forward to it. Hope it'll be at least 3 hours long.
