LOLOL!! I was HOPING you'd chime in!! ::big grin::::smile::

I LOVE that Truffle Shuffle .gif and yes, I'm PSYCHED for Halloween!

I'm putting together my Halloween Party "wish list" on Oriental Trading to prepare for my party... Really hard not to drop a MINT on all of these Halloween decorations and goodies!!

I WANT TO BUY ALL THE THINGS.

http://www.worldmarket.com/category/...onal:halloween

I really REALLY want this puppy but can't justify the price!!

Guess I'm going to have to do a LOT of post-Halloween shopping!

Alternatively - Hey boys and girls - Have Halloween goodies (decor, props, etc.) - I'm more than happy to take them off your plate!! ::wink::

Go the traditional route and make them yourself!

My initial reaction to that was, "PFFFFT. I am SO not crafty enough to do that on my own!"

But, you know what?? MAYBE I AM.

Watch out, Martha Stewart!!

Anyone is and can. Cranky oldtimer rant:

When I was young, that's what the holidays were about- using your creativity to create the atmosphere you want, not going to a store and buying shit.

PUMPKINS! Carving pumpkins into spooky jack-o-lanterns is not only easy, IT'S FUN. And with candles inside they are oh so spooky....

Cover everything in sheets... makes the place look spooky and abandoned.

Ghosts, bats and spiders are easy to make. So are dead bodies and spooky scarecrows.

A little dry ice in the punch bowl makes an instant mad dr. concoction.

Colored light bulbs lend atmosphere.

7 ways to make cobweb decorations:

And since you mentioned Martha Stewart:

You don't have time for all this? Have a party to decorate for the party. It's part of the fun of the holiday.

Definitely true. My parents were always into carving pumpkins when I was growing up but that was about it when it came to Halloween. ::wink::

Thanks so much for those tips!! I spent all afternoon on marthastewart.com and I'll be doing a "crafting day" with Mum on Sunday. Might sound cheesy but I'm so psyched! I wish we were closer; I'd invite you over!

That's awesome! It's not cheesy at all. It's a lot more fun than just buying az lot of mass produced junk. And your partygoers will love it!
