THE DESCENT (2005). Sure I mentioned this at one time, but a few years since I checked it out and REALLY a great movie. Such claustrophobia, some true scares and could not believe all the grue...just great! Also loved the interaction between the two main characters towards the end. ****1/2

THE MULE (2018). Decent flick with Triple Threat Clint Eastwood (producing, Directing, Acting) as a washed up professionally/ personally Senior who scores a job moving drugs. Not as essential as some of his other films, but the Man is amazing, doing all this in his 80's and truly a National treasure. ***

I liked it just fine. Good to see a bit of quality find its way back into DC films outside their animated efforts. Well played. Sombre, moody, sad. I'm not about to puff it up as much as the comic-based-cinema fans, and I can't really comment as a comic fan - as this is quite seperate from anything I was familiar with... I'll just say, I think it's worth a watch. |
