I Saw the Devil (2010)

I took DBD's rec. It's 2 hrs 20 mins, South Korean, English subtitled. A serial killer kills this special agent's wife. And the agent brutalizes suspects, until he finds the killer. Then he brutalizes him, puts a tracker on him, and lets him go... where the killer goes on to kill more people and sexual assault women. While the killer is doing this, the agent catches him, brutalizes him again and releases him again, repeat. It's extremely graphic with violence and sexual assault, I'd say unnecessarily, but it's really what's on the menu. It's shot well, there's some emotional displays, but mostly disemboded. I didn't find it scary. And, as you can tell, a rather unrealistic plot. I wouldn't recommend it unless that's you're cup of tea.

It was definitely MY cup of tea.

Possession of Hannah Grace

Not bad. Had a creepy vibe and interesting story. They at least tried to do something different with a possession story. A little similar to Autopsy of Jane Doe, which was much better, in that it takes place in a morgue and features a dead body causing trouble. The kills were boring and predictable and the ending confused me but not a bad watch.

6/10

“Mother” 2/10

Horror? Horror my ass.

This must be the most annoying movie experience I’ve ever had. Annoying from beginnng to end.
