When I saw Volcano comin' out in theatres, all I needed to see was the tagline:

"The coast is toast"

Didn't even need to see it to know it sucked.

Mel-O-Toons DVD from the 99 Cents Store. I had never seen Mel-O-Toons before, but they looked to be some kind of cheesy educational cartoons from the 50's and 60's. Turned out these were pretty neat, in a boring kind of way. Reminded me of those godawful old scratchy films they would show at school on rainy days. The DVD was made from really messed-up, scratchy prints, so that helped a little. (Scratches and dust used to be annoying; now they're nostalgia!)

barbra 03-12-2005 10:19 PM

you ever see terror toons?
its lame, but its a 'new kind of animation'.

I've been hearing good stuff about that movie too for a couple years now, its supposed to be a pretty good psychological thriller.

That movie actually touched me. It shows how people just would rather be violent to people that aren't like them. I read the book about it. It really is a heartwrenching story.
