And i cant recall having seen any :)

The guy who made City of Lost Children made Alien: Ressurection. So they can make shit, at least when they are making American movies.

jeunet - briliant filmmaker.

i didnt mind ressurection - but i find that a lot of foreign directors first forreys into american cinema are a bit shakey.

(i.e. John Woo - Hard Target)

and thats a fucking crime !!

hellfire1 06-06-2005 06:16 AM

hmmm..... of the top of my head...

un indien dans la ville, blueberry (franco-american, but still ), immortel, le pacte des loups (brotherhood of the wolf which i hated), le diner des cons (which i could never find funny), travaux, les rivières pourpres (could've been good, shame really), romance x...

there are good french movies yes, but get this, the french themselves don't really like french films. so go figure !

one i do highly recommend though : la haine. great movie.

mathieu kassovitz with gothika.

Ugh. Gothika was grade a bullshit with a side of crap. I love Charles Dutton, but i wanted to smack him for that one...

And ressurection was a decent Sci-fi action movie, but as an Alien Movie, it was garbage. Which is shame, it had a great cast.

i LOVED brotherhood of the wolf !!!

actually i'm more familiar with the older french films - the 'new wave' films ... bu the odd reasonably current one that i get my hands on - i usually enjoy them too..
